This week, we welcomed a very special visitor at our school: Dr. Suleiman, a commited veterinarian who has been advocating for animal protection in Kurdistan, Iraq for many years.
Dr. Suleiman shared a very important message with us: He told the children a moving story about a Persian leopard who was injured in Kurdistan and now lives in a zoo in order to receive medical care and recover. Dr. Suleiman and the two volunteers from abroad who advocate for animal protection taught the children why it is so important to help and protect these majestic animals. The children learned that the Persian leopard is an endangered species and how they could help protect and support their population and reproduction.
This visit was a wonderful opportunity of not only making the importance of animal protection more accesible for our children, but also strenghten their awareness for how important the conservation of our nature and animals is.
We'd like to thank Dr. Suleiman and his volunteers for their tireless efforts!
