Anniversary! The Our Bridge School Turns Seven Years Old

Seven years ago, on the 26th of August, 2017, the doors to our orphanage in Northern Iraq opened - a refuge for children that had to flee from the horros of ISIS. Today, seven years later, we proudly look at our school which offers a home and education to more than 400 children daily.

This day is a special milestone for all of us. Not only do we celebrate the existence of our school, but the incredible journey we undertook together. Our celebration was filled with joy and education: The children listened to a speech and a video about the creation of our school in one of our classrooms. Elsewhere, they splashed each other with water, jumped on a bouncy castle or participated in exciting races against each other.

The highlight of the was a parcour with seven hurdles which symbolize every year we mastered succesfully to eventually reach our goal. And of course, refreshments were served - we celebrated this special day with delicious cake, fresh fruit, cold ice cream and joyful music.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of the people who have supported us throughout these years. Without your help, none of this would have been possible. Another special 'Thank You' has to go to our teachers who tirelessly work every single day in order to make a better future possible for our children. Together, we have achieved great things - and we will continue to fight in the future so as to provide hope and education to our children.
