Rolling Up Our Sleeves

Rolling Up Our Sleeves

Rolling up our sleeves for the children: Other than reading, there was a lot of screwing, sawing and hammering at our school last week, and all of it with a lot of heart.

More than 400 children receive daily warm meals at our school. Not only books and food are necessary in order for everyday school life to function well, but also good furniture - especially in our school hallway where our children come together to eat, learn and play.

When we were in urgent need of new tables and benches, the team of the German Bundeswehr offered their help immediately. With a combination of effort and expert craftsmanship they built 12 tables and 15 benches in total for us - sturdy, practical and beautiful.

We would also like to thank Vincenzo, whose generous donation made it possible for us to buy the necessary amount of wood for our new furniture.

Additionally, a big 'Thank You' to everyone who rolled up their sleeves. Thank you for your time, your commitment and connection to our children. Not only did you build furniture: You created a place where children can be comfortable and grow together.
