Bewar's Fate

'Poverty scares me'.

Children like Bewar who grow up with worries about their livelihood have a very different outlook on life. Bewar is only 8 years old but already understands that his father's monthly income doesn't suffice to provide for the livelihood of his family. On top of that, his father recently underwent surgery which put him out of action for quite some time.

If nothing else, the appreciation that Bewar feels for Our Bridge is ascribed to his circumstances. He knows about the privilege of being able to learn reading and writing. That is why it is his wish to pass on his knowledge to the younger generation and become a teacher himself in the future.
