A Day for our Heroines

We celebrated a very special day at our school today: International Women's Day. On (not just) this day, we want to celebrate the incredible strength, courage and lust for life of our women, specifically of the 30 widows that had to flee from ISIS and have been attending our school for years. These women are a fixed and valuable part of our community. They regularly visit our knitting and sewing classes and enrich our school with their strength and mettle.

Today, we want to say 'Thank You': Every woman received flowers and a certificate as our acknowledge of their courage, endurance and their contribution to our community. All of us celebrated this special day with a cozy shared breakfast: A wonderful moment of laughing, sharing and remembering how important cohesion is.

We are proud of every single one of you and thank you for your tireless efforts and strength. You are true idols for us all!
