Our school in Khanke is continuously striving for more sustainabilitiy - not only to help our children, but the community as a whole. This is why we are particularly excited to announce that we have introduced waste separation at our school - a practice that is actually not widespread in this area.
Through the implementation of yellow bins for plastic waste, blue bins for paper, orange bins for metal and black bins for food waste, we want to protect the environment as well as teach our students about important values like responsibility and sustainability. To do that, we involve our students in the whole process: From installation, labeling of the bins to discussions about environmental protection in class. We have already seen that our excitement and commitment for a better future spreads just as fast to the children this way.
Furthermore is this initiative of great importance to the entire region. By separating waste, we can not only reduce the damage to the environmental but also preserve resources and improve the quality of life in our communities. We are planning to compost some of our food, re-use waste in our art classes and deliver metal scraps to local recycling centers. These measures play an important role in reducing environmental pollution and have a positive influence on our region.
Together, we can make a difference!
