New Books for Our School Library

A special moment for our school: Last week, we had the pleasure of receiving some of the troops of the German Bundeswehr stationed in Erbil once again at our school. This time, they had a very special gift for us: New books for our school library!

During their last visit at our school festival at the beginning of April, the soldiers noticed that there was a lot of space on our shelves left for reading material. Without hesitation, they sprung into action. They started collecting donations interally and presented us with their generous donation of 3.105$ with the goal of providing more books for our children.

Last Thursday, it was finally time: Together with our students we were able to fill our shelves with the first delivery of new books, including many titles in English and entire book series like Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes - the children's eyes were beaming. Our children - many of them living in nearby refugee camps - are full of curiosity and excitement to learn and discover. Every page they turn offers them new worlds to dive into.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the entire team of the German Bundeswehr in Erbil: Thank you for your support, your time and your open heart. Not only did you donate books, but more importantly, hope and education.
